She uceeeded Miss Cushtuan in 1886, when the convention waa held in Saratoga. She became a member of the Grand Lodge gf Indiana in 1868 and waa at that ses sion elected a delegate to the Bight Worthy Grand Templars, and had attend ed every session of that body except that held at Toronto.

For six years she erred as Grand Secretary in Indiana. When the deceased became Superintendent the Juvenile Department ot the Independent Order Good Templars bad a membcrahip of 50,000 and tlie list steadi ly Willed uiitil iiow it teaches the mark. Mrs. Brookbank began her career as a Good Templar in 1865, and in 18T3 led a temperance revival in Jcf- fersonville.
