on Thursday, and after 10 a.m. on Friday. MORRISON, CHAPLAIN 73 passed away Friday, Januar 6, 2006, in Louisville. He was born August 13, 1932, in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, in 1954, ith a Bachelor of Engineering degree, and awarded a bachelor arts degree in foreign service in 1956, from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

He received his master of arts degree in history from Emor University in Atlanta, GA, and awarded a PhD in history from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He taught at Washington Lee University in Lexington, VA. While teaching, he published a book in 1967, on Wilmot Pro- iso entitled Democratic Politics Sectionalism: The Wilmot Proviso Controversy. He also taught at oungstown University in Youngstown, OH, where he was ver active in the protest ietnam War movement and hosted a eekly radio tal show. He later moved to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in protest the Vietnam War and taught at Waterloo University.

He returned to the U.S. in 1972. In 1972 he worked for George campaign for president, he also worked as a Lobbyist in Congress on Nuclear Freeze in 1984. He worked in Miami for the American Friends Service Committee and was an active member on the Justice Committee the Miami Friends Meeting. In 1995, he moved to Louisville.

He taught part time at Jefferson Community College. He was a member the Fellowship of Reconciliation and on the Steering Committee. He was a member Louisville Friends Meeting, Kentucky Interfaith Task Force for Latin America and the Caribbean (KITLAC) and other peace and ustice groups in Louis- ille. He is survived by his daughters, Lynette Morrison of Vancou- er, B.C., Canada and Laura Morrison White Rock, B.C., Canada; his grandchildren, Dylan Morrison Myers of Louisville, and Alafia Morrison White Rock, B.C., Canada; and a sister, Barbara Gognat Louisville. A memorial service ill be celebrated at 2 p.m.

Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook with isitation starting at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Highlands Family- Owned Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. MURPHY, JEANNA GAIL COLSTON, 50, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, Februar 1, 2006, at her residence. She was born on April 29, 1955, and was a native of Louisville. She was a manager for Highwood Apartments. She is survived by her husband, Johnnie D. Murphy; two sons, Sean Patrick Murph and Joshua Scott Murphy; her mother, Fa Hance; her father, Notice Colston one brother, Tim Colston; and one sister, Vick Sailing (Robert).

Her funeral will be held at noon on Saturday at the chapel A rch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation ill be from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for her education.

MURRELL, LARRY 57, McHenry, IL, died Friday, January 27, 2006, in McHenry. He was born on September 3, 1948, in Louisville, to Oliver and Lona (Vincent) Murrell. He was married to Janet (Ewert) Murrell. Mr. Murrell was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Roy and James Murrell.

He is survived by his ife; a son, Cody Murrell of McHenry; and two sisters, Joyce Henning (Dennis) of Louis- ille, and Betty Elkins (George) of Radcliff, KY. A memorial service ill be held at noon Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, with pri- ate interment. MYERS PAULA MARY, 60, formerly of Louisville, died Monday, Januar 30, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Arthur Myers. She is survived her children, Nick, Karla, Terri and LeAnne Myers; her mother, Maud Hauber; sisters, Rose Ann Wagner and Carmel Blandford; and brothers, Leo and John Hauber. Burial will be held on Friday at St. Catholic Church, Chantilly, VA.

She was a native Stuart a retired domestic and a member of St. Mar Baptist Church in Weston, GA. She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and Charles Perryman; and her sister, Christine Green. Survivors include six sons, the Rev. James A.

PHILLIPS, PAULINE CURNICK 86, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at Good Samaritan Home. She was a member Fern Creek Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Doin Phillips, and a daughter, Connie Allen. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Dollinger (Bill); and her son, Norman Phillips (Candace). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Karen Pacheco (John), Timothy Hatzell (Jodi), Denise Allen (Craig), Damon Allen, Shelle Friedman (Kelly) and David Phillips; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wanda Haney; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service ill be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Arch L. Heady Hikes Point Funeral Home, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens- West. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday.

SEWARD, VAUGHAN AUSTIN 85, of Hilliard, OH, died, Sunday, January 29, 2006. He was a U.S. Arm A ir Corps veteran World War II and a retired traffic manager for Old Fitzgerald Distillery. He was a Mason and a member of the Kosair Shrine and the Louisville Transportation Club. He is survived by his ife, Dorothy; his son, Douglas Seward (Katherine); three grandsons, Nathaniel, Clayton and Peter Seward; a sister, Martha; and several nieces and nephews.

John's Episcopal Church, Columbus, OH. SHEFFIELD, MADELINE SMITH 62, of Louisville, died Monday, January 30, 2006. She was a native Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Sheffield, Sr.

She is survived three daughters, Deborah Combs, Anita Ka Sheffield and Carol Lynn Hall (John); a son, Donald E. Sheffield, two sisters, Mary Rose Brookfield and Delores Fenley; a brother, Robert E. Mark was born in Louisville, KY, on December 29, 1949. He was a lifelong University of Kentuck basketball fan, where he attended college and was a member Phi Delta Theta. Mark was a true Renaissance man as well as a world traveler. He as a wonderful person who lived life to its fullest and will be trul missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margery and Harry K.

Strassel and his brother, Harry K. Strassel III of Louis- ille. He is survived by his caring and devoted ife of 14 years, Jane Strassel of Evansville, IN. Jane is from a ver loving and spiritual family. The prayers and undying love from all of their family and friends helped them through this very hard time.

Mark is also survived by his wonderful aunt, Elizabeth Jenks; and cousin, Virginia Ann Jenks of Birmingham, A he is also survived by his sweet, dear niece, Amy Strassel Latulip and her daughter, Samantha Nicole Latulip of Indianapolis, IN; his uncle, John E. Mack of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; his cousins, Bob and Bernadette Mack, Bill Mack, Mitch and Mary Mack, all Berkeley, CA; and a dear family friend, Pat Ricchio of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
