Elbert Gary Sutcliffe, arrives this week end from New York City to spend the holidays with his parents. Mr. Charles H. R. Lyon is spending the holidays with his parents in Baltimore, where he will be joined by his sons, Randy 4 Wilson Chesclieir Stewart Campbell Mr.

Miss Stewart, a graduate of the Louisville Collegiate School who now is attending Vassar College, is one of the season's debutantes. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Mrs. James Morrison Wilson announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Martha Stuart Wilson, to Mr.

George M. Chescheir, son of Col. George M. Chescheir and Mrs. Chescheir of Harrods Creek.

Miss Wilson, the daughter of the late Reverend Mr. Wilson, is a graduate of St. Mary's Hall in Raleigh, She will be graduated in June from Rockford College, Rock-ford, 111. Mr. Chescheir is a graduate of Centre College and is a member of Beta Theta Pi Courier-Journal Photo Capt.

Weldon James, stationed at Marine Headquarters, Washington, lias joined hi family at their home on Crescent Avenue for Christmas. John Woolford, manager of the Louisville Orchestra, will leave Wednesday for New York City, where the orchestra will play on Friday in Carnegie Hall. He will accompany the orchestra, which will go by chartered plane to New York. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Anderson will go from Louisville to attend the performance.

The Rev. J. R. Dobbins, assisted by the Rev. George Riggs, performed the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the South Park Fishing Club.

The bride, gowned in candlelight satin and lace, carried white roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Laura Lee Hawks, maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Misses Nina Martin, Lyda Mae Herring and Mrs. Louis Kincaid. Miss Julie Groover was flower girl. Mr.

Fred Groover was best man and the ushers were Messrs. Raymond Jones, Roland Birch and Arvil Short. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Herring will make their home in Winston-Salem, N.
