He graduated from Michigan State 91, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. Mrs.

deWitt was born July 31, 1922 in Robeso-nia, PA, to the late Vincent and Isabel Wirt She was a School Teacher retiring from Norton Elementary. passed away on March 4, 2014 at her home in Louisville, KY. Helen was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, where she graduated from the Bright School and Girl' Preparatory School and from there to Duke University for a degree in English. Post graduate Masters Henrich. She was a 4 of the Eastern Star and Margaret was a United States Navy (W.A.V.E.S) Veteran, member of Beargrass Christian Church and the TWIGS of Kosair Chil University, North Carolina State University, and received his PhD from the University of Iowa.

He was employed as a research scientist with the Human Resources Research Organization and the Army Research Institute. He retired in 1990. Don was an elder and member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Golda Joan Haggard. He is survived by his children, Donald F.

Haggard, III of Mt. Washington, Kaylee Haggard of Cincinnati, and Annlynn Haggard of Louisville; granddaughter, Kristen Hudspath of Murray; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Sandra Kilinski of Traverse City, Michigan; and his sister-in-law, Casilda Haggard of Detroit, MI. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Presbyterian Church, 9800 Stonestreet Road with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. deWitt is survived by her six daughters, Winnifred Preston (Sam), Carolyn Scholer, Betty Lou Murphy (Howard), Barbara McGee (Patrick), Laura Hoskins (Larry) and Catherine Hagan (Tim); grandchildren, Sam, Andrew and Ben Preston, Jennifer Wikoff, Ally-son Norfleet, Barbara and David Murphy, Rodney and Roger Henry, John and Emily Varner, Catherine Britt, Laura and Sami Hagan and Rachel Cummings; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Taylor; two brothers, Vincent Henrich (Val) and Gustav Henrich (Terri).

She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wallace W. deWitt; a granddaughter, Melissa Lynne Henry; and a son-in-law, Robert L. Scholer. A celebration of Mrs. deWitt's life will be conducted Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 5 p.m.

at Springdale Presbyterian Church, 7812 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY, 40241, with a private inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, www.subfuneralhome.com 82, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. He was a 1949 graduate of Fern Creek High School and was later inducted into the first class of the Fern Creek High School Hall of Fame. Raised a Seventh-day Adventist, he attended Southern Missionary degrees were later earned at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, (Master of Arts in Teaching); University of Louisville (Psychology) and the University of Kentucky (Master of Library Science). She had been attending classes with Bellarmine University's Veritas Program for several years. Before moving to Louisville in 1969, she had been employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga; also as a teacher of Latin at Girl' Preparatory School in Chattanooga.

In Louisville, she was employed by General Electric' Industrial Design Laboratory at Appliance Park as a Consultant in Human Factors Engineering and at the Louisville Free Public Library as the Coordinator of the Homebound Program and as a Reference Librarian. Helen was an avid proponent of a healthy lifestyle. She was a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and a member of their Water Safety Board in Louisville. Helen was a certified Yoga Instructor and associated with Ashrams in Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas as well as in the USA. She was a member of Milestone Wellness Center.

Helen was the past President and a member for many years of the Monday Afternoon Club, a literary organization which was established in Louisville in 1887. Helen was a Sustaining Member of the Junior League and associated with numerous non-profit organizations in Chattanooga and Louisville. Helen was the daughter of the late Dr. Winston P. Caine and Helen Hughes Caine of Chattanooga; her brother, Dr.

Winston P. Caine who died in 2012, was a greatly honored Physician of Chattanooga and Tennessee. Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Ben Franklin; her sister, Marjorie Caine Brown (Ron) of Palm Coast, FL; and her sister-in-law, Priscilla M. Caine of Signal Mountain, TN. He was the first residency trained family physician in KY and was a charter member of the American Board of Family Practice. He pursued his love of geriatrics as medical director of Westminster Terrace Nursing and Retirement Home for over 37 years, receiving the Better Life Award in patient care by the KY Association for Health Care Facilities. His life-long of teaching was exemplified by serving as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of KY for 10 years and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Louisville where he received a 25 year award for service and the William T.

Vonder-Haar, M.D. Excellence in Teaching Award. He served on numerous boards and committees of many local hospitals including St. Joseph's Infirmary, Jewish, and Suburban where he also served as former president of the medical staff and received the Paul Gross Award for service to community and hospital. He served as past president of both the Jefferson County and KY Academies of Family Practice.

In 1987, he received the Kentucky Academy of Family Practice Citizen Doctor of the Year Award and served as delegate of the KY Medical Association to the American Medical Association for 10 years. His joy was serving the community in family practice. He was also an avid world traveler, enjoyed gardening, nature, beekeeping, SCUBA diving, fishing, playing cards, horse racing, and of athletics. He was loved as a husband, father, grandfather, and physician. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C.

"Chris" and Helen Conn Haller; and brother, C.C. "Christy" Haller, Jr. In 1957, Harold married his neighbor and sweetheart, Glenda Marie Papon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Dr. H.Dale Haller, Jr.

Miller, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 7 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. Libby had retired from a 50 year career as a legal secretary for the firm of Washer, Kaplan, Rothschild, Aberson and Miller. Since 1925, she was an active member of the Cathedral of the Ski Margaret was a kind, gentle woman full of joy. She welcomed everyone with and kind words. Her home was always filled with family, friends, and neighborhood children all of whom she would cheerfully invite to the table to break bread. A woman of strong faith, her Catholic religion was very important to her as were her rosary beads, which were always close by.

Margaret and Bob retired from their family business, Miller's Fancy Bath and Kitchen, and enjoyed many happy active years in Ft. Myers. She was adored and cherished as Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love, faith in God, a strong work ethic, and gratitude for each day. She will be greatly missed by her children, Rick Miller (Jeana), Caron Melillo (Bill), Diana Neal (Scott), Fred Miller (Yvette), Pam Janes (Scott), and Craig Miller (Tamera); 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Loreda Pike (Aloysiys), and Theresa Mattingly (Harold); brothers, Joe (Bonnie), and Bernard (Doreen) Fackler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond (Zula) and James Fackler. Her funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 7813 Shelbyville with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m.
