She was formerly of New York, a graduate from Long Island University and taught typing at JHS 104 in Manhattan for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Benj amin Sragg. She is survived by her daughters, Rhoda Faller (Bernard) and Carol Whitton; her grandchildren, Joseph Grossberg, Daniel Grossberg (Erica), Ian, Benjamin and Elizabeth Whitton. Funeral services and interment were held in New York on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. The family will sit Shiva at the residence on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. SULLIVAN DORIS ROSE, died peacefully at her Basking Ridge home on Friday, August 29, 2014, one day shy of her 90th birthday.

Doris was born in Louisville, Kentucky, married and raised her family there until she moved to New Jersey twenty-one years ago to help her daughter Kathy Ann and son-in-law Gerald Matlesky raise their young and growing family of Jess, Greg, and James Matlesky. To hono the importance of both communities of loving friends and family, celebrations of life will be held in both New Jersey and her beloved Kentucky. The Matlesky family will receive friends and family at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. All of her family will unite in Louisville, Kentucky to honor Doris with visitation at the Ratterman and Sons 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10am Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Church of the Ascension. Immediately following, Doris will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Leo James (Jimmy) Sullivan, in Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road. Doris was employed thirty years at the former South Central Bell and Bell South, primarily as a telephone operator. She was proud to also say that she was one of the hrst female supply attendants, mastering a fork lift before she retired in 1985. She worked tirelessly to balance her job with her main vocation as a wife and loving mother to her three sons and one daughter.

Delicious home-cooked Sunday dinners fo the whole family became her signature as her family grew up, left home, and began to raise families of their own. She taught her children the importance of family, getting a good education, and turning in an honest days work; and leaves behind the legacy of a large and loving family. Doris is survived by her children, James Scott Sullivan, Sr. and his wife Carol Jean (Se- idenfaden), Kathy Sullivan Matlesky and he husband, Gerald (Gerry), John Dean Sullivan, and Preston Randall (Randy) Sullivan and his wife, Gail Starr (Caulk). Besides Jess, Greg, and James Matlesky, she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Scott Sullivan, Jr.

and his wife Robin, Bethany Dunkin and her husband Brad, Brett Sullivan, Eric Miller, Amy Spanyer and her husband Danny, Jennifer (Jen) Sullivan, Jason Sullivan and his wife Katie, and Diane Ingbritsen. Doris was especially proud of her growing legacy of great grandchildren, Molli and Carley Sullivan, Brynlee Dunkin, Keaton and Madde Miller, Kate Jack Ingbritsen, Mason Sullivan, Cooper Sullivan, Beckham and her namesake Hadleigh Rose Spanyer. THOMAN HARRY LAWRENCE 83, of Louisville, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, a home with his loving family by his side.

He was a Christian and retired from General Electric as a con- trolman. He was also a lifetime member the Local 761 Union. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Nancye (Strepey) and his two sons Harry, Jr. (LuAnn) and Greg (Regina) and their two daughters Ashley (Clark) Berger and Abigail. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 pm at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville with cremation to follow.

He was retired from Louisville Gas Electric Company and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Bensing) Waddell; and a son, Kenny Waddell. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Reeser (Terry); two grandchildren, Jennifer Thixton (Billy) and Pamela Reeser (Jason); hve great- grandchildren Sean, Cassidy, Jacob, Shelby and Addison.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. On line WHITE, LYNN HILAN, 84, passed away peacefully at Norton Pavilion Hospice on September 1, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleva and Florence Kinser, her brother, Mcrantion Kinser and her in laws, Charlie and Velma White Edmonson County. She is survived by her husband, Fred Love White, and son, Roger C. White of Florida. They celebrated their 66th anniversary on August 21, 2014. Hilan was born July 22, 1930 in Edmonson County.

She graduated from Sunhsh High School in 1948. She was a member of the Larchmont Church of God since 1949. She started the Friendways youth program and was in charge of decorating the church for many years. She loved working with the Larchmont youth and was involved with the missionary circle. She worked at Lorillard Tobacco Co.

for 36 years as a machine operator where she established factory efhciency records. She was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) in 1994. She started the hrst PPH Support Group in Kentucky because this is such a rare disease with no cure excep for transplant. Her hobbies were making and embroidering baby quilts to give away, sewing clothes and making quilts. Her garden was he pride and joy and considered the best in Shively by one garden club.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Vicki was born on June 30, 1966 in Louisville to Robert E. Wright Sr. and the late Margaret E. Stewart Wright. She works as an Electronics Engineer Contractor at GE and is a member of St.

Louis Bertrand Catholic Church. Vicki will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Left to carry on her memory are her children, Matthew Wright (Jennifer), Cory Wright and Kenneth Wright; grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew Jr. and Andrew Paul; father, Robert Wright aunt, Anne Stewart; sister, Leslie Wrigh Herbert (Chris); brothers, Chris Wright and Robbie Wright (Wendi); and also several nieces and nephews who loved her very dearly. Ratterman.com YOUNGBLOOD VIOLET 89, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her home of hfty seven years. She was born in Middleburg, KY, on September 14, 1924 to William and Mary Ellis Lucas and grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She moved to Louisville in 1957 and worked as a bookkeeper for Louisville Crown until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband sixty six years, Oury Youngblood; and her oldest son, Steven. She is survived by her son, Gregory Lee Youngblood; six grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.

She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and was passionate about gardening, quilting and the Cincinnati Reds. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Her funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Rd with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will precede the funeral from 9-11 a.m. at the church. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregivers, Sherry Edlin and Kathy Breneman. He retired from International Harveste after 30 years, was a cabinet maker, a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, and the Double Square Dance Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dennis Brison, and his hrst wife, Mary Jean Brison.
